EXPERIENCE
03/92 - present
Sun Microsystems, Inc., H/W Manager
Managed team of computer design engineers to deliver successive SPARC generation products utilizing latest technologies and architectural enhancements.  Facilitated team efforts to complete deliverables and meet design targets, including extensive timing reviews and optimizations.  Developed and presented procedures for frontend design processes, and presented design status to senior project management. Developed scripts to collect project-wide design metrics and publish results to webpages.  Responsible for frontend management of monthly to weekly integrations cycles.
Sun Microsystems, Inc., H/W MTS to Staff Electrical Engineer.
Responsible for specification, design, and implementation of SPARC microprocessor control and datapath blocks to meet high-performance design goals for two pipeline generations on UltraSPARC I and UltraSPARC III products. Wrote related microarchitecure specifications and coded rtl design in Verilog. Control/datapath block design from rtl through synthesis/schematic, place and route, PDV and timing extraction; Iterated microarchitecture and implementation optimizations based on post-layout RC parameters and static timing analysis with Cadence's Pearl to meet cycle-time targets.  Supported design through tapeout and system bringup to productization.

06/90 - 03/92
Hughes Aircraft Co., Electrical Engineer.
Contributed to design and analysis of computer controlled sensor system modeled with VHDL. Presented analysis results to shared contract management and customer.

06/85 - 06/90
Hughes Aircraft Co., Software Engineer.
Specified, designed, and implemented a variety of engineering applications on Unix workstations and PCs.
Developed graphics systems and user interfaces for online assembly planning instructions.
